Exterior
Refined purpose
Since its arrival over 40 years ago, the Toyota Hilux has been improved and refined again and again. The result is a sixth-generation model that takes the concept of exceptionally practical strength combined with true driving enjoyment to new heights. A compelling blend of rugged good looks and smooth, aerodynamic design tells you, at a glance, all you need to know.
Wraparound vision
Large, projector-style headlamps blend resolute focus and appealing style to great effect. Not only do they look good, they also use halogen technology to deliver a far more effective, and safe, spread of light than conventional bulbs.
Polished chrome bumper
An extra dash of polished style and easy-to-clean practicality is provided by the chrome rear bumper, standard on HL3 and Invincible models.
Robust, stylish wheels
The Hilux comes with either 15- or 16-inch steel wheels or 15-inch alloys. In each case, you get robust, purposeful style, which is backed up by high-performance ventilated front disc brakes for all the stopping power you need.
Front fog lamps
Fog lamps provide an extra dimension of road safety. Seamlessly integrated within the front bumpers of HL3 and Invincible models, they are deeply recessed for added protection when the job, or your off-roading enjoyment, takes you into rough terrain.
Large wing mirrors
Generously proportioned wing mirrors make life safer and easier in the Hilux. Designed to keep wind noise at a minimum, they come in practical black on the HL2, while on HL3 and Invincible models they have an attractive chrome finish and electric adjustment.
Optimising air scoop
The bonnet air scoop, while giving extra dynamic edge to the Hilux profile, has a serious job to do - it increases the flow of air to the intercooler for maximum power and efficiency.
A body style to suit
At its core, the Hilux is an unflinchingly hard-working and capable vehicle. And yet it also offers the comforts and driving refinement of a passenger car. It can even, in Double Cab form, provide the all-encompassing flexibility of a full five-seater.
Staying power
When you've got a job to do, no matter how demanding, the Hilux Single Cab is the perfect partner - and one that won't compromise on your driving enjoyment. This two-seater has a prodigious load length of 2,315mm, deck width of 1,520mm and deck height of 450mm. It adds up to a maximum load space of 1.58 cubic metres and a total payload of 860kg.
Versatile strength
This is the Hilux you need when you require the flexibility to carry an extra two rear passengers - for business or pleasure. The loading area remains at a hard-working optimum, providing a deck length of 1,805mm while the maximum payload is a hefty 1,045kg. As for the interior, along with the passenger-car comforts, practicality remains a high point thanks to the security of an in-cab alarmed stowage area.
The full-five seater
The Double Cab provides everything you need, including serious all-terrain capabilities, to support even the most active lifestyle, or any group outing. It seats five adults in comfort, providing good head and leg room all round, and provides all the comforts and technological convenience you would expect from Toyota. And, of course, it's still a ready and willing practical partner. It can shift a total payload of 1,060kg and has a deck length of 1,520mm. There are also handy storage compartments beneath the back seats.
